What is “unidentified”? A city madman without identification? Any object of unusual shape? Actually, it can be anything about which we have insufficient information.
According to Marcel Duchamp, an artist does not necessarily have to create a work of art; they can simply choose an unidentified, unknown, found object, a ready-made, and place it in the context of a museum or gallery, thereby transforming it into an object d’art.
A character from a Soviet-era film says that he will attach “such a thing” to a ready-made object, “and it will fly,” becoming an unidentified flying object, albeit not in the shape of a saucer. Anna Frants, a new media artist, “attaches” electronic devices or “things” to ready-mades or repurposed objects. They may not fly from this, but they will be ready to comprehend space and explore chaos.
