In 2016, CYFEST (CYBERFEST) celebrates its 10th anniversary.

Founded by CYLAND Media Art Lab in 2007, CYBERFEST was held annually for six years across St Petersburg’s top art institutions (The State Hermitage Museum, Peter and Paul Fortress, Kuryokhin Modern Art Centre, Creative Space TKACHI, Borey Gallery, Gallery of Experimental Sound and Art re. FLEX gallery), earning a reputation as the original and the most significant New Media event in Russia.

Making a pivotal leap in 2013 — CYBERFEST’s 7th edition expanded for the first time outside Russia to Berlin, attracting over 10,000 visitors over 5 days. In 2014/2015, CYLAND & CYBERFEST reached further by branching to innovative cities (St Petersburg, Moscow, Tokyo, Berlin, New York, Bogota, London) on the Art & Tech frontier, strengthening cultural exchange among innovators.

Presentation of CYLAND’s activities at Vilnius-based Sodų 4 Gallery

On October 13, 2016 St.Petersburg Arts project will partner with Vilnius-based Sodų 4 to host an informal presentation of CYLAND’s activities by Berlin-based curator Hannah Nelson-Teutsch. The brief talk will be will be followed by a Q/A and brainstorming session exploring possibilities for new collaborations and partnerships in Vilnius and around the world. We hope you can join us for informal night of drinks, snacks, and great conversation.

In 2007, CYLAND began organizing Art::Tech happenings in St. Petersburg, and after nearly a decade of exponential growth, today CYLAND exhibits ground-breaking artists in exhibitions around the world from Berlin to New York City, Tokyo, Bogota, London and beyond. Now, CYLAND is looking to strengthen ties to Vilnius.

Sergey Kuryokhin Museum Opens Exhibition with CYLAND’s Installation

On June 16, 2016 Sergey Kuryokhin Centre for Contemporary Art opened an exhibition featuring “Made in Ancient Greece” installation by Anna Frants and CYLAND MediaArtLab. “Sergey Kuryokhin Museum. Prototype #1” exhibition includes works from the Centre’s future collection of contemporary art. On display will be the works of more than sixty contemporary artists living in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kiev, London, and New York. Bringing together all kinds of art, the exhibition aims at recreating the spirit of “Popular Mechanics” with its unpredictable spontaneous and synthetic character.
