“Storm in a Tea Glass”
Cyland Media Lab
2012
Video, teacup with saucer scaled to 1/3, sound
An individual’s problems close off the rest of the world to them. At the same time, they do not concern those around, nor do they affect the flow of life around him… the tragedy of one is indifferent to millions… every artist lives through his or her life, emotions, attitude to the world and society (reflects on themselves) in their art.
A storm in a teacup – born from the artist’s inspiration – the storm of creativity never ends… dies along with him.
“Sock Snapper”
Cyland Media Lab
2012
Light Installation
Socks, lamps with silicone coating, programming
In memory of departed pets.
We see a multitude of colorful socks, each glowing in the dark in turn. A bright light flashes first one, then another, failing to find its pair… maybe it’s being gnawed under the sofa…
Visitors are invited to bring photographs of departed pets for the memorial wall.
“Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors”
Cyland Media Lab
2012
Video Installation
Shadows from glass vessels shimmer in the rays of backlight. Only the play of light remains, reminding us of them… just as the memory of many generations preserves words, habits, and stories linked by our ancestors, long gone from our lives, but not from memory.
“Longing of the Spirit”
Cyland Media Lab
2012
Video
It’s unclear what is desired… whether it’s a pork cartilage, or a revolution… love or solitude… compassion or to blow up the world… Isn’t this state of spirit familiar to everyone…?
