At the International Contemporary Art Fair in Lithuania

Cyland Foundation Inc.

ARE PROUD TO PRESENT:

CYLAND MediaArtLab participated in ArtVilnius’14, an International Contemporary Art Fair in Lithuania from June 18 to 21, 2014. As our team develops the idea to attract new artists, programmers, engineers and activists to initiate new projects in the field of media arts, with CYLAND MediArtLab Vilnius launching in the framework of Uzupis Art Incubator (UMI), recent and well-accepted works by the lab are shown at ArtVilnius’14.

Marina Koldobskaya presented wall painting open session entitled THE END in the hall of Lithuanian Exhibition Centre “Litexpo”, uncovering the delight of a creative act itself.

Throughout the Expo in a specially constructed screening room Changing Landscapes, a video program from CYLAND Video Archive was shown. Video Archive was conceived as a networks platform of artists, programmers, videographers, engineers, art educators and curators from all over the world. Its main objective is to become a means of exchange between professionals and to give artists the opportunity to promote their works.

Changing Landscapes curator Vika Ilyushkina selected twelve works that together create a genuine, introspective look at contemporary Russian New Media. These videos by active Eastern European artists offer personal perspectives into the continuum of their native country’s past, present and future. Pieces by established, кecognized artists Boris Kazakov, Yuri Vasiliev, Ludmila Belova and Dmitri Lurie are joined by emerging talents Maxim Svishev, Tatiana Akhmetgaliyeva, Masha Sha, Anton Khlabov and the “Upward!” community — each embodying artistic development within the age of digital technology in Russia.

On June 19th in the form of an interactive presentation Marina Koldobskaya talked about CYLAND’s initiative, ongoing projects and achievements like International Media Arts Festival CYBERFEST. CYLAND is a community open to everyone interested in creating and promoting art that meets the level of today’s civilization development. Please, join us at the ArtVilnius’14 for inspiration!
